Hypo Lower Austria is a women's handball club from Maria Enzersdorf in Lower Austria. He is one of the most successful clubs in Europe. In the last 16 years, Hypo 8 times win the EHF Champions League . The home games of Hypo in the southern city, a district of Maria Enzersdorf out.

The association was initially proposed by some successful athletes, including Liese Prokop, and Eva Maria Sykora Janko, together with the trainer Gunnar Prokop was launched. Even after several years Hypo closed to the then Austrian top teams in women's handball, and was the first time in 1977 champion. Since then dominated the Austrian league and was a total of 31  times Austrian champion. Also in 1989 the imported Austrian Cup won.

Gunnar Prokop built in the'80s is becoming more expectant women's team, in 1987 the first time in the Champions League reached the final. There were but Spartak Kiev still clearly identified the borders. 1988 was the final against Spartak Kiev almost lost again, but the Lower Austrians equal this time. The following year was the first time against the same opponent the first winning the Champions League, 1990, the title in the final against Kuban Krasnodar successfully defended.

1991 the final against TV Lützellinden lost the rematch to the successful Gießenern followed in the final the following year. Until 1995 followed by the Norwegian coach Arne Högdahl in series three more European Cup title.

The following year, lost Hypo-Ladies in the title ŽRK Podravka Koprivnica. Then they were denied the final withdrawal, but succeeded in 1998 again winning the Masters Cup against the top Spanish club Valencia Mar. In 2000, the EHF Cup champion so far for the last time against Kometal Skopje in the southern city fetched. After the split squad and Hypo were less successful times. Over the next three seasons Austrians occupied the Netherlands in the group stage only the third place and so locomotives from the Champions League.
