In first round Lokomotiva surprisingly defeated Kometal 28:25. Team from Zagreb showed excellent play against much stronger opponent and deserved this great victory.
This season Lokomotiva started without Andreja Penezić and Petra Starček. Many thought Zagreb team will not have strength to oppose Croatian goalkeeper Ana Križanac and her new team Kometal.
Match started with a lead of guests – 8:2 and 11:7. Team of Zoran Mlinarić managed to decrease the margin on three goals (12:15) for final result of first half.
Marija Zeljko opened second half with some great saves. Kometal defence simply could not stop Knjezević and Čop-Andesilić. Thanks to them, Lokomotiva managed to turnover the result and to win.
Zeljko had 20 saves and Knjezević scored 10 goals. On the other side Popović scored 8 goals.
