Match Krim Mercator vs. Podravka Vegeta ended with a tie 36:36 (15:19). Croatian Champions had convincing lead, but team of Marta Bon managed to save one point.
Marta Bon and Zdravko Zovko used this match to try different tactics and also to give chance to all their players. Zovko even tried 3-2-1 defence.
Many mistakes
“During entire match there were many mistakes on both sides.“ – said Štefan Jug, EHF's delegate. And it is true. In the beginning Krim had more errors. That was the reason why Podravka had a lead from 16th minute (9:10) all the way to 56th minute (35:34), sometimes even with the margin of six goals.
Golubić and Lekić best scorers
In second half powerful shots of Andrea Lekić could not be stopped by Podravkas goalkeepers. Bodnjeva was very dangerous on the line also. But Dijana Golubić was decisive player for Krim today, penetrating from right wing position and scoring eight goals.
Maja Zebić could have been player of the match, but Zovko decided to give chance to Ana Lovrak and some other players. Penezić and Bulath were efficient in offence, but they also made some mistakes.
In the end, both teams can be satisfied with the draw – after all it was a match between two European top teams.
