Macedonian international with Ukrainian origin Julija Portjanko signed a 2-year contract with WRHL Champion Podravka Vegeta.
Portjanko began her career in Galičanka Lvov and was member of Ukrainian national team. In 2002 arrives in Skopje and plays for Kometal and Macedonian national team. During second part of last season she plays for Turkish Uskudaru because Kometal collapsed.
Portjanko can play on all back positions, but in Podravka she will be used as right back. New player in team of Zdravko Zovko has 7 years of experience competing in Champions League.
“I am glad that I have signed the contract with Podravka and I hope that I will justify expectations. For sure I will give the maximum in all matches”. - said Portjanko.
Her national team-mate Natalija Todorovska played important role in her transfer by convincing her to come to Koprivnica. Portjanko knows all the Podravka players very well from the national teams, WRHL and friendly matches.
Director Marijan Domović declared clubs desire not to make big changes in team for next season because two or three new players would fit more easily in the team. Besides goalkeeper Herr and back Portjanko, Podravka soon expects to sign one more lefthander playing on back position and to prolong contract with left winger Ana Lovrak.
